Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County will organize and conduct candidate forums for contested races, upon request of a candidate, individual or group in the county, if agreed to by at least two candidates.  Please contact Voter Services at least six weeks prior to the election if you would like the League to organize a forum or would like to co-sponsor a forum with the League.

Forum Format

Forums follow the approved Candidate Forum Guidelines of the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County and are led by a trained League Moderator.  Prior to the forum, each participant draws a number to determine the order of appearance. Each candidate is given 90 seconds for opening remarks, one minute to respond to written questions from the on-site audience and two minutes for closing remarks.

The League of Women Voters neither supports nor opposes any political party or candidate.  Our goal in sponsoring candidate forums is to inform voters about candidates and their stands on issues.
