League Celebrates Women’s History Month 2018

“Behind the Veil: Understanding Today’s Muslim Woman” was the topic of Zehra Tahir’s presentation at the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County Brunch held at the Ozaukee Country Club on March 17th.

Mrs. Tahir, an Assistant Principal at the Milwaukee Salam School at the Islamic Society in Milwaukee spoke on the Islam Faith and misconceptions of the faith, along with the role of Muslim women in American Society. Over 100 attendees, including men and students from area high schools, enjoyed brunch and Mrs. Tahir’s speech and media presentation.

The brunch was the highlight of celebrating Women’s History Month (WHM) and was an annual fundraiser for the League.
