Final Spring 2019 Forum: Mequon Mayoral Race

    March 28, 2019

The LWVOZ held its last forum of the spring on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in the
Pharmacy Building at Concordia University. John Wirth and Brian Schneider, candidates
for Mequon mayor, participated in the standing-room only forum. The event was co-
sponsored by the LWVOZ, the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Tim
Macafee of Concordia University. League member Mary Fran Lepeska was the
    moderator.

There is great interest in this mayoral race, and the forum provided an opportunity for
citizens to become informed on the positions of Mr. Wirth and Mr. Schneider, who
responded to a variety of questions written by the audience numbering over 150.
Our thanks to Dr. Macafee who coordinated the event at Concordia, arranged for video
    taping
of the forum, helped with question collating and provided students to be greeters
and question collectors. Thanks also to Tina Schwantes of the M-T Chamber of
Commerce for her support in making this forum possible. The League coordinator was
Louise Mollinger, and other League volunteers included Judy Schwengel, timekeeper and
Jean Bromley, question collator and Barbara Johnson, photographer.
