    Voter Registration at MATC-Mequon

    March 14, 2020

On March 11, 2020, LWVOZ held a voter registration assistance event at MATC-Mequon from 10:30 am -12:30 pm. League members who participated were Donna Fowler, Barbara Johnson, Maureen Gibson and Joyce Harms. This was a more informal event than the one on National Voter Registration Day, lasting only two hours, but nevertheless we considered it to be very successful.

In a short amount of time this is what was accomplished: Four new voters were registered online, 2 voter registrations were checked, information was given to 5 people on how to do a change of address on the DOT website, 15 MyVote cards and 18 sheets with information on the remaining 2020 elections were handed out. In addition many students who passed by the table were invited to register and contact was made with other students in the cafeteria.  LWVOZ had a good presence at MATC and many adults passing by thanked us for being there.

We hope to do more such low-key voter registration assistance events at MATC.  If you are contacted by Donna Fowler or Barb Johnson of Voter Services in the future, consider helping out for a few hours. We found it to be a very worthwhile and enjoyable morning!
