Gift to Local Libraries from LWVOZ

July 23, 2020

Members of the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee presented the book Winning the Vote: The Triumph of the Woman Suffrage Movement to the Cedarburg Library and Weyenberg Library of Mequon-Thiensville. This book is arranged chronologically with emphasis on the early twentieth century and provides many photographs, posters, leaflets and portraits that illustrate the account of the expansion of American democracy.

League members Vonna Pitel, (L) and League of Women Voters President Barbara Hunt (R) presented the book to Library Director Linda Pierschalla. 2020 is the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. All public libraries in Ozaukee County will receive a copy of the book for their collections.

League members Carol and Carl Hertz (R) present a copy of the book to Rachel Muchin-Young, Director of the Weyenberg Library (below).
