Since the onset of the global pandemic, COVID-19, The League has had to cancel several events and make adjustments to keep our members and the community safe. The March Women's History Month luncheon was the first event of the year to be cancelled and the impact from the pandemic has been severe.
The LWOZ held its first in-person, physically distanced Board meeting of the year outdoors at Lime Kiln Park in Grafton. Nineteen members attended and it was a wonderful way for the Board to carry on the official business of the League and for members to socialize (at a distance and with face coverings) after months of separation. All members brought their own lawn chair and followed public health guidelines positioning themselves apart and wearing face coverings.
With the upcoming election, League activities will be adapting in the face of COVID-19. The next board meeting will take place outdoors to allow for physical distancing in September. Board members and individual committees are hard at work ensuring voter education is top of mind as we head for November.
