Register to Vote

There are 4 ways to Register to Vote:

 

1. Online:  If you have a valid, unexpired WI driver’s license or WI State ID, you can register online up to 20 days prior to an election. Go to myvote.wi.gov

 

  • Note Free WI ID card: You can apply for a free WI Photo ID card for voting. You can begin the process online but will need to go in person to the DMV to complete the process. Read more: bringit.wi.gov/how-do-i-get-free-state-id-card
     

2. By Mail:  At least 20 days prior to an election print and fill out registration application EL-131 (elections.wi.gov/forms)  Mail along with a copy of proof of residence to your municipal clerk.

3. In Person:  Visit your Municipal Clerk's Office until Friday 5pm before the election. You’ll need a proof of residence document.

4. On Election Day:  Go to your polling place from 7 am to 8 pm to register and vote. You’ll need a proof of residence document to register and a photo ID to vote. List of acceptable photo IDs: bringit.wi.gov
